Twelve apparel-focused companies made the 2026 China Top 500 Private Enterprises list, and seven of them are registered in Zhejiang. That ratio is not a coincidence — it is the concentrated payoff of a complete industrial chain operating at regional scale.
The Industrial Geography Behind the List
The All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce conducted its 28th large-scale private enterprise survey, covering 6,350 companies with 2025 revenue exceeding 1 billion yuan, and selected the top 500 by revenue. More than 30 textile and apparel companies made the cut, with 12 apparel-focused firms spanning menswear, womenswear, sportswear, down jackets, innerwear, and childrenswear. Zhejiang's seven seats include Youngor, Xin Feng Ming, Peacebird, Semir, Shenzhou Knitting, Zhongzhe Holding, and Boyang Holding. Jiangsu contributed Heilan, Bosideng, and Yalu. Fujian's Anta and Inner Mongolia's Erdos each claimed one seat.
This distribution signals that competition in apparel is no longer a contest between individual brands but a test of comprehensive industrial belt capabilities. Zhejiang simultaneously possesses brand operations, knitwear OEM capacity, and market-oriented channel strength, giving it the shortest chain from fabric development to garment delivery and the fastest response speed. For buyers, this means placing orders in Zhejiang can compress communication costs and sampling cycles, but it also means higher supplier concentration and narrower bargaining room.
The Keqiao Sample: Where Manufacturing Resilience Comes From
Keqiao District in Shaoxing deserves separate analysis. Zhejiang Baoye Construction Group and Jinggong Holding Group entered the main top 500 list. Five companies — Jinggong Holding, Zhejiang Tiansheng Holding, Zhejiang Libo Holding, Zhejiang Yongli Industrial, and Shaoxing Keqiao Hengming Chemical Fiber — were named to the manufacturing top 500, one more than last year.
Keqiao's list structure is dominated by chemical fiber manufacturing and holding groups rather than consumer brands. This reveals an easily overlooked fact: the competitiveness of a textile industrial belt lies not only in branding but also in raw materials and intermediate goods. The presence of companies like Hengming Chemical Fiber means Keqiao has stable supply capacity in polyester filament and chemical fiber raw materials. When the brand end faces demand fluctuations, upstream manufacturing support becomes the ballast for the regional economy. For factories, proximity to raw material sources reduces logistics and inventory costs. For exporters, Keqiao's chemical fiber capacity directly affects the stability of fabric quotations.
The Dual-Track Logic of Brand and Manufacturing
Placing the 12 apparel companies and Keqiao's manufacturers on the same list reveals two parallel upgrade paths. One is the branding path, represented by Anta, Bosideng, and Heilan, which relies on channels and brand premiums for growth. The other is the manufacturing upgrade path, represented by Shenzhou Knitting, Xin Feng Ming, and Hengming Chemical Fiber, which locks in orders through production scale and technical barriers.
These two paths are not separated. Shenzhou Knitting serves international sportswear brands, and its revenue scale alone demonstrates that the OEM segment can achieve sufficient profit margins. For buyers, choosing an OEM supplier versus a brand supplier depends on order volume, lead time, and quality requirements. Small-batch, quick-turn orders are better suited to suppliers near brand operation centers. Large-volume, standardized orders are better suited to scaled factories within manufacturing clusters.
From a trend perspective, the stable number of textile and apparel companies on the list indicates the industry has not experienced systemic shrinkage but is undergoing internal structural replacement. Sportswear and down jacket categories have a stronger presence, reflecting more resilient consumer demand for functional and seasonal products. The inclusion of innerwear and childrenswear companies suggests brand concentration in niche markets is rising.
