A trade fair simultaneously operating in both a specialized market and a convention center is a first for Keqiao’s curtain fabric industry. Scheduled for August 12-14, 2026, the Beilian Market Curtain Fabric Autumn Exhibition will debut a dual-venue model—Hall A on the fourth floor of Beilian Market and Hall B at the Shaoxing International Convention Center. This spatial adjustment signals a critical shift from a passive ‘waiting-for-customers’ model to an integrated exhibition-trade ecosystem.
The Logic Behind Dual Venues: Keeping Traffic Inside the Market
Traditional exhibitions are often disconnected from the market: shows are held at convention centers while market operations remain separate, forcing buyers to shuttle between locations. The innovation here lies in embedding the exhibition directly into Beilian Market’s fourth floor, while retaining the convention center as a supplementary venue. Buyers visiting Hall A will encounter not just temporary booths but also permanent showrooms of market tenants—meaning the exhibition space remains active even after the three-day event ends.
Beilian Market, as China’s largest specialized curtain fabric trading hub, has long held a leading position. The exhibition will leverage approximately 7,000 square meters of display space, backed by over 200,000 vertical invitation resources and 1.3 million targeted touchpoints. For buyers, this translates into concentrated brand meetings during the three days, with the option to continue negotiations at the same location afterward—significantly reducing supply chain coordination costs.
Brand Clustering: From Fabric Wholesale to Finished Brand Building
A highlight of the exhibition is the on-site signing of six brand enterprises: Huaxin Home Textiles, Milan Decorative Materials, Orange Impression, Royal Landscape, Bu Jiangnan Workshop, ETUB, and Suofangshi. These include both local Keqiao firms and industry leaders from other provinces. Mao Fangli, head of Bu Jiangnan Workshop, noted that their showroom has expanded from one to two units, adding a reception area and bar to create a more brand-aligned negotiation environment for the August event. Hong Jingjing, head of Suofangshi, revealed plans to launch a series of new Chinese-style embroidery products.
This move signals a clear intention: Beilian Market is guiding tenants from homogeneous fabric wholesale toward differentiated finished brand operations through a ‘staggered floor and category’ layout. Pan Jianhua, chairman of Zhejiang China Textile City Group, stated that the core purpose of bringing the curtain exhibition to Beilian is to drive the entire industry’s transformation from ‘fabric wholesale’ to ‘finished brand building.’ As consumer demand for integrated design and branded services rises, the profit margins of simply selling fabric are narrowing—branding is an inevitable trend for the upstream supply chain.
Long-term Cooperation: Beyond a One-off Event
Beilian Market and the China Textile City Curtain Fabric Association signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the press conference, elevating the ‘market + exhibition’ integration from a single activity to a long-term partnership. Under the agreement, both parties will deeply integrate the association’s industry resources, the market’s offline physical channels, and the exhibition’s traffic advantages to achieve resource sharing, joint recruitment, and full-scale promotion.
For exhibitors, this means the exhibition is no longer a three-day ‘one-off’ exposure. The fourth floor of Beilian Market will be developed into a ‘never-ending brand display space,’ allowing quality brands to establish a permanent presence. The group organizes over 170 events annually, fostering high-frequency interactions between buyers and brands, supplemented by financial, digital, creative, and logistics support. This ‘year-round exhibition + periodic fair’ dual-track model aims to transform the curtain fabric industry’s long-standing reliance on passive storefront operations.
Industrial Cluster Response: A New Path for Keqiao Curtains
Keqiao, as one of the world’s largest textile distribution centers, counts curtain fabric as a core category. Cao Tianlong, president of the China Textile City Lin’an Chamber of Commerce, pledged full support for the exhibition through three initiatives: launching innovative products, protecting original designs, and fostering collective growth. Zhao Junhui, president of the China Textile City Curtain Fabric Association, noted that the simultaneous scheduling of the Beilian Autumn Exhibition and the Keqiao Curtain Exhibition creates a ‘market + exhibition’ dual-drive model, marking a milestone for industry standardization, branding, and clustering.
From an industrial cluster perspective, Keqiao hosts numerous curtain fabric enterprises but with low brand concentration. The dual-venue model not only expands physical space but also reallocates traffic and resources. Companies with original design capabilities and strong brand awareness will gain priority access to exhibition resources and market support, while those lacking differentiation may face intensified competition.
