The polyester filament market is experiencing a subtle yet noteworthy pricing divergence. On June 26, 2026, multiple major domestic polyester FDY suppliers offered quotes for 150D/96F semi-dull AA-grade products ranging from 8,500 to 8,750 CNY per ton, forming an uneven price corridor.
Industry Logic Behind Quote Divergence
For the same specification and grade, the price gap between different factories reached as high as 250 CNY/ton. Rongsheng Petrochemical and Zhejiang Juxing Chemical Fiber both quoted 8,500 CNY/ton, while Tongkun Group quoted 8,750 CNY/ton, Zhejiang Tiansheng Chemical Fiber 8,710 CNY/ton, Jiabao Fiber and Kaishi Group quoted 8,510 and 8,650 CNY/ton respectively. Such a hundred-yuan-level spread is uncommon during stable market periods, hinting at deep differences in inventory strategies, customer structures, and cost control among enterprises.
Geographically, all quoting companies are concentrated in Zhejiang Province, mainly in Hangzhou and Shaoxing. This regional concentration means that once the operating rate or shipment pace of major Zhejiang chemical fiber bases changes, it will directly impact the national polyester FDY supply pattern. Notably, the two lowest-quoting companies—Rongsheng Petrochemical and Juxing Chemical Fiber—are both located in Hangzhou and Shaoxing, also major consumption areas for polyester raw materials PTA and MEG. The procurement location advantage may translate into pricing flexibility.
Profit Shifting Along the Polyester Chain
Polyester FDY pricing is squeezed by both upstream PTA prices and downstream weaving operating rates. The current 150D/96F quote range corresponds to cash flow margins that have narrowed compared to Q1 2026. For leading enterprises like Tongkun and Tiansheng, their integrated industry chains (from PTA to spinning) can partially hedge against raw material fluctuations; for relatively independent spinning companies like Juxing, the 8,500 CNY/ton quote may approach the breakeven point.
This divergence is a double-edged sword for downstream buyers. On one hand, low quotes mean lower immediate procurement costs; on the other hand, if low-price companies cut output due to thin margins, supply could tighten in subsequent weeks, leading to price rebounds. Industry public data shows that the average operating rate of polyester FDY units in Zhejiang remained around 82% in H1 2026, but some enterprises plan routine maintenance in July, which could further exacerbate regional supply-demand mismatches.
