In 2025, Tianmen City's garment e-commerce transaction volume exceeded 70 billion yuan, nearly a tenfold increase from 2021. Behind this figure lies the transformation of a traditional cotton-producing region into a digital fashion hub.
Event Background
On the evening of June 27, a co-branded fashion show titled 'Symphony of Coexistence: Rainbow Tianmen' took place at Tianmen Sports Center. It kicked off the 2026 Tianmen Garment E-commerce Industry Conference, curated by Liu Yong, a two-time winner of China's top fashion design honor, the 'Golden Top Award.' Liu, formerly with brands like Septwolves and K-boxing, is known for vibrant color usage and structural design, and has recently been active in the 'Guochao' (national trend) space.
This show was more than a mere runway event. It embodied Tianmen's strategic shift from scale expansion to brand upgrading. Historically known as the 'Hundred-Mile Cotton County,' Tianmen leverages deep textile roots and digital economy momentum. It now hosts 43,000 market entities and exports products to over 150 countries.
Industry Impact
The leap from 7 billion to 70 billion yuan in e-commerce transaction volume within four years is remarkable. However, rapid growth alone doesn't guarantee brand premium. This is why the 'Tianmen Yishang' regional public brand was launched in 2023—to consolidate fragmented OEM capacity into a unified value proposition.
'Tianmen Yishang' has established a management standard system covering 6 major categories, 26 secondary sub-systems, and 194 standards. It won the gold award in the 'Hubei Brands I Love' TV competition. The collaboration with Liu Yong marks a critical step from regional to national brand presence. Selected designs from the show will enter the 'Tianmen Yishang' product system and be sold through local e-commerce and cross-border channels, creating a 'runway-to-retail' commercial loop.
What does this mean for the supply chain? Traditionally, Tianmen factories operated on an OEM basis with thin margins. The regional brand plus designer collaboration model embeds design authority into manufacturing, boosting value-add. For buyers, this offers more distinctive 'Made in Tianmen' products rather than unbranded white-label goods.
