The textile industry is undergoing a unique organizational transformation. From late June to early July 2025, over ten leading textile enterprises including Shenghong Holding Group, Weiqiao Venture Group, Erdos Group, Dasheng Group, and Hongdou Group held intensive activities to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. This was not a mere ceremonial gesture but a systematic organizational mobilization involving 1,956 Party members, 92 Party branches, and hundreds of special Party lectures and red study tours.

As industry profit margins narrow and foreign trade environment fluctuates, these enterprises are upgrading Party building from a 'political task' to a 'management tool'—embedding Party roots deeply into corporate governance through commendations, red study tours, and special Party lectures.

Party Building Down to the Workshop Floor

Data illustrates the penetration. Erdos Group's Party committee governs 13 Party committees, 8 general branches, and 92 branches, with 1,956 Party members forming a 'red network' covering the entire industrial chain. The PVC No. 2 factory innovation team won the Inner Mongolia Youth May Fourth Medal, and the No. 1 knitting factory branch was recognized as a regional May Fourth Red Flag branch—indicating Party building is moving from headquarters to the front line.

Dasheng Group's actions carry deeper historical weight. On June 27, it simultaneously commemorated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Nantong Independent Party Branch at Dasheng Cotton Mill. This means the Party history of this century-old textile enterprise is almost synchronous with its development history. Party Secretary Bao Weidong required branch secretaries to serve as 'cultural propagandists' to root the Dasheng spirit of 'realism, innovation, dedication, and progress.'

Shenghong's deployment leans more toward management. Party Secretary Miao Hangen proposed 'four integrations': Party building with business, management system optimization, work style construction, and talent development. This essentially uses the Party organization as a parallel management tool to address core pain points like strategic direction, internal coordination, integrity risks, and talent pipelines.

Red Productivity: From Cost to Competitive Advantage

Previously, some enterprises viewed Party building as an 'extra cost.' But this concentrated action signals a shift: Party building is being redefined as a 'productivity factor.'

Hongdou Group Party Secretary Zhou Haijiang directly translated the four dimensions of Yan'an Spirit—correct political direction, emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts, serving the people wholeheartedly, and self-reliance and hard struggle—into business development language. This 'political-to-commercial translation' capability holds practical significance amid current foreign trade pressure and domestic demand restructuring.

Tongkun Group's approach is more instructive. In June, it organized over 650 Party members to Zunyi, Guizhou for a red study tour. Led by Chairmen Chen Shiliang, Xu Jinxiang, and Chen Lei, the group juxtaposed the Long March Spirit with Tongkun's spirit of 'unity, hard work, pragmatism, and innovation.' This means enterprises are extracting organizational resilience from red history—no matter how difficult the road, with united hearts and steady steps, it can be traversed.

Dali Silk combined Party building with craft innovation. Artisans used silk as paper and warp and weft as brushes to create red silk cultural and creative products. This 'Party building + intangible cultural heritage + cultural creativity' path directly translates into product added value.

Practical Impact for Buyers and Foreign Trade Enterprises

For buyers, these Party-building activities are not superficial. A textile enterprise with 92 branches and 1,956 Party members typically has superior internal controls, quality stability, and on-time delivery compared to loosely organized firms. The depth of Party building often correlates with management maturity—because the 'three meetings and one lesson' system is itself a standardized organizational discipline training.

For foreign trade enterprises, the 'compliance dividend' from Party building is noteworthy. As EU and US scrutiny of supply chain human rights and labor standards intensifies, enterprises with systematic Party-building systems often have better documented records on employee rights protection, occupational safety and health, and anti-discrimination. Erdos Group's 'Inner Mongolia Charity Award' is an external certification of this soft power.

For Buyers - Include supplier Party-building systems in due diligence: Check Party member ratios, branch numbers, and dedicated Party affairs staff as indicators of management maturity. - Focus on integration points of Party building and quality management: Shenghong's 'Party building with business' and Dasheng's 'Secretary-led projects' often correspond to stricter quality control processes. - Prioritize enterprises with red study tour traditions: Such firms typically have stronger risk resilience and team cohesion, leading to higher delivery stability.

For Foreign Trade Enterprises - Convert Party-building materials into ESG report content: Party member activities, red study tours, and charity awards can serve as evidence of social responsibility fulfillment for EU and US client audits. - Learn from the 'four integrations' framework to optimize internal management: Especially the integration of Party building with talent development, which helps address common issues in textile foreign trade like recruitment and retention difficulties. - Explore overseas dissemination of 'Party building + innovation': Dali Silk's red cultural products and Hengli's red light and shadow creative performance can be used as brand stories to narrate the cultural connotation of 'Made in China' to overseas clients.
