The industrial high-temperature dust removal sector has long faced a dilemma: traditional filter cartridges either lack sufficient temperature and corrosion resistance or suffer from film shedding, leading to increased operational resistance. A recent scientific achievement appraisal organized by the China National Textile and Apparel Council has provided a systematic solution.

Technological Breakthrough

The project, led by Zhejiang Huaji Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Northeastern University, MCC South Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., and Yantai Tayho Advanced Materials Group Co., Ltd., focuses on key technologies for energy-saving, carbon-reducing, high-temperature, and corrosion-resistant ultra-long spunlace filter cartridges. The appraisal committee rated the overall technology as internationally advanced, marking a significant step for domestic filter cartridges in the high-temperature flue gas purification niche.

Core innovations include precise gradient pore regulation and high-pressure wide-width forming for spunlace filter media, enabling superior heat and corrosion resistance; a microporous stiffening agent formulation and high-permeability stiffening process for producing 3.5-meter ultra-long, film-free, high-efficiency, low-resistance filter cartridges—a first in the industry; and a high-reliability wire-frame internal support structure paired with automated manufacturing, eliminating dust accumulation dead zones and directly reducing energy consumption.

Industrial Implementation

The project has established two major production bases in Tiantai, Zhejiang, and Wuhan, Hubei, with a total annual filter media output of 36 million square meters. The Wuhan base, equipped with the world's first ultra-wide, ultra-high-pressure spunlace equipment, is China's only facility capable of producing 3.6-meter non-spliced, one-piece spunlace filter cartridges. For high-emission industries like steel, power, and waste incineration, this means buyers no longer need to rely on imported or spliced solutions.

Field tests show particulate emissions stably below 3.5 mg/standard cubic meter, far exceeding current national standards. Products are exported to over 40 countries, demonstrating global competitiveness. Once fully operational, annual output value is expected to exceed 1.5 billion RMB, reflecting massive replacement and incremental demand in the high-temperature dust removal sector.

Industry Impact

For the textile industry, this breakthrough extends beyond environmental protection. Spunlace filter media, a niche within technical textiles, drives upgrades across upstream chemical fiber and downstream environmental equipment chains. The involvement of raw material suppliers like Tayho accelerates the validation and adoption of domestic high-performance fibers such as aramid in filter media.

From a buyer's perspective, the film-free design extends cartridge life and reduces maintenance costs. Traditional film-coated cartridges are prone to shedding under high-temperature, high-humidity conditions, causing efficiency drops, while the spunlace integrated structure mitigates this risk. For continuous operations like steel mills and waste incineration plants, reducing downtime for cartridge replacement translates directly into economic gains.

Practical Recommendations

For Buyers - In high-temperature flue gas conditions (>200°C, with acidic gases), prioritize non-film spunlace cartridges, focusing on gradient pore design and stiffening process compatibility. - For new projects, request ultra-long cartridge solutions (>3.5 meters) to reduce cartridge count, equipment footprint, and wind resistance. - Choose filter media suppliers that collaborate with domestic high-performance fiber producers like Tayho to ensure supply chain stability and cost control.

For Exporters - Highlight technical parameters (e.g., PM<3.5 mg/Nm³, temperature and corrosion resistance) as core selling points, targeting markets in Europe and Southeast Asia with stringent emission standards. - Develop industry-specific case studies for waste incineration and steelmaking, using real-world data instead of generic claims. - Monitor regulatory upgrade windows in target markets and establish early technical connections with local engineering firms to offer customized cartridge solutions.
