The industrial high-temperature dust removal sector has long faced a hidden cost trap: traditional filter cartridges either lack sufficient temperature and corrosion resistance, suffer from peeling membranes requiring frequent replacement, or have high operating resistance that drives up energy consumption. A recent technology achievement certified by the China National Textile and Apparel Council is reshaping this landscape.
Technology Inflection Point: From Membrane Reliance to Gradient Pore Size
The 'Energy-saving, Carbon-reducing, High-temperature and Corrosion-resistant Ultra-long Spunlace Filter Cartridge Key Technology and Industrial Application' project, led by Zhejiang Huaji Environmental Protection and co-developed with Northeastern University, MCC South, and Tayho, has been appraised as reaching international advanced levels. The core breakthrough lies in abandoning traditional membrane coating for precision control of gradient pore sizes in spunlace filter media, solving the contradiction between temperature/corrosion resistance and high efficiency/low resistance at the material level.
Specifically, the team developed ultra-wide, high-temperature and corrosion-resistant spunlace filter media substrates, and innovated a microporous stiffening agent formula and high-permeability stiffening forming process, resulting in a 3.5-meter-long non-membrane filter cartridge. A pioneering high-reliability wire-frame internal support structure eliminates dead zones for ash cleaning, significantly reducing equipment energy consumption. This means downstream users in steel, power, and waste incineration can drastically reduce filter replacement frequency and fan energy use without sacrificing filtration efficiency.
Production Capacity: Dual Bases in Tiantai and Wuhan
Beyond the technology breakthrough, industrialization speed is equally noteworthy. The project has built two production bases in Tiantai, Zhejiang, and Wuhan, Hubei, with a combined annual filter media capacity of 36 million square meters. The Wuhan base is equipped with the world's first ultra-wide, ultra-high-pressure spunlace machine, making it the only base in China capable of mass-producing 3.6-meter non-spliced one-piece spunlace filter cartridges.
For buyers, this means stable supply of high-end domestic filter cartridges, reducing reliance on imports or single-source constraints. When fully operational, the project's annual output value is expected to exceed 1.5 billion yuan, reflecting strong downstream demand for such high-performance products.
Market Validation: Particulate Emissions Below 3.5 mg/Nm³
Technology reliability ultimately depends on application data. Products are now widely used in steel, power, and waste incineration industries. Field measurements show stable particulate emissions below 3.5 mg/Nm³, far exceeding current domestic emission standards. Critically, products have been exported to over 40 countries and regions, confirming international market recognition of their technical specifications.
For foreign trade enterprises, this signals a positive trend: as global environmental regulations tighten, domestically produced filtration materials with international advanced standards are moving from 'import substitution' to 'export substitution'.
