The ceiling of traditional curtain width has been lifted by a county-level enterprise in Anhui. Xinli Textile, based in the Langxi Economic Development Zone, has officially started production of its first 3.6-meter ultra-wide curtain line, pushing the industry standard from 2.5-3.4 meters upward by over 20 centimeters. This seemingly small increment means fewer seams and stronger visual integrity for customized curtains, giving factories a more complete pricing capability for high-end residential and hotel projects.
Background
Xinli's line was not built with simple imported machinery but with self-developed customized equipment. Company head Wang Yongxin emphasized that the line has been systematically upgraded in both quality control and production environment. From an industrial cluster perspective, Langxi and the surrounding Xuancheng area have traditionally focused on textile finishing and home textile accessories. Extending into complete ultra-wide shade products represents a clear move up the value chain.
The line focuses on sheer blinds and Shangri-La blinds, products long dominated by Korean and Turkish suppliers in European, American, and Middle Eastern markets. Chinese companies, constrained by width limits, previously exported mostly narrow semi-finished goods or components. The 3.6-meter line means domestic factories can now deliver finished-width curtains, reducing secondary processing for overseas clients.
Industry Impact
Industry data shows the global curtain market exceeded $28 billion in 2025, with ultra-wide custom products growing over 9% annually. Under traditional widths, large floor-to-ceiling windows or commercial curtain walls often required multiple panels, leading to visible seams and uneven fading under direct sunlight—a structural reason high-end projects relied on imports.
Xinli's ultra-wide line directly addresses this pain point. The company has exhibited in Germany, the US, and Dubai, and established agency channels in the Middle East, Central Asia, and India—regions with high demand for heat insulation and UV protection. A 3.6-meter width can cover a standard residential window in one piece, significantly reducing installation complexity.
For domestic home textile clusters, this breakthrough's demonstration effect may exceed the company itself. Keqiao and Shengze, traditional curtain fabric hubs, still focus on widths below 2.8 meters. If Xinli's cost and yield rate prove viable, more companies may follow suit within two years, driving an industry-wide spec upgrade.
