The high-temperature dust removal industry is witnessing a pivotal breakthrough. A project titled 'Key Technologies and Industrial Application of Energy-Saving, High-Temperature and Corrosion-Resistant Ultra-Long Spunlace Filter Cartridges' has passed the scientific achievement appraisal organized by the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), with the overall technology rated at an internationally advanced level. This is not just a technological leap in filter media; it signifies a substantial upgrade in dust removal solutions for high-energy-consumption sectors such as steel, power generation, and waste incineration.
Technological Breakthrough: Systematic Innovation from Materials to Structure
Traditional filter cartridges have long suffered from three major pain points under high-temperature and highly corrosive conditions: insufficient heat and corrosion resistance, easy detachment of the membrane, and high operating resistance. The project team's solution was to completely abandon the membrane-coated route and instead develop non-coated high-efficiency low-resistance spunlace filter cartridges. The core achievement lies in overcoming the technologies for precise gradient pore control of spunlace media and high-pressure wide-width forming, enabling the production of ultra-wide, high-temperature and corrosion-resistant spunlace filter base materials.
Building on this, the team innovatively developed a microporous stiffener formula and a high-permeability stiff forming process, extending the cartridge length to 3.5 meters while achieving high filtration efficiency without a membrane. Coupled with a high-reliability wire-frame internal support structure, dead zones for cleaning are largely eliminated, significantly reducing equipment operating energy consumption. For factories, this translates to longer cartridge life and lower maintenance costs.
Industrial Implementation: Two Bases Support 36 Million Square Meters Annual Capacity
The project has established two production bases in Tiantai, Zhejiang, and Wuhan, Hubei, with a combined annual filter media capacity of 36 million square meters. The Wuhan base is particularly noteworthy—it houses the world's first ultra-wide ultra-high-pressure spunlace equipment and is China's only production base capable of mass-producing 3.6-meter non-spliced one-piece spunlace filter cartridges. Non-splicing means stronger media integrity and more stable filtration performance, offering direct quality assurance to downstream users.
Products have been scaled in industries such as steel, power, and waste incineration. Engineering field tests show stable particulate matter emissions below 3.5 mg/Nm³, far exceeding current environmental standards. Once fully operational, the project's annual output value is expected to exceed 1.5 billion yuan, indicating promising market prospects.
Industry Impact: Dual Benefits for Buyers and Exporters
For buyers, the introduction of non-coated spunlace filter cartridges directly reduces replacement frequency and maintenance costs. Traditional membrane-coated cartridges are prone to membrane detachment under high temperatures, causing a sharp drop in filtration efficiency, whereas the new solution avoids this risk at the material level. Additionally, the 3.5-meter ultra-long cartridge can reduce the number of cartridges per unit, lowering initial investment and footprint.
For exporters, the products have already been sold to over 40 countries and regions, proving their technical maturity and market acceptance. As global environmental standards tighten—especially in the EU and Southeast Asia—cost-effective non-coated spunlace filter cartridges are poised to become a new growth driver for exports.
