Ahead of July 1st, a commendation list spanning various sectors has drawn industry attention. Among 149 national outstanding Communist Party members, 150 outstanding Party workers, and 399 advanced grassroots Party organizations, several individuals and collectives from the textile sector were selected. This is not merely an honor but a public endorsement of a path where companies integrate Party building with production and operations to drive industrial upgrading.
Background
The commendation list includes representatives from all segments of the textile chain. Zhang Bo, chairman of Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group, and Mi Xuemei, customer service director of Zhongshan Xiahushijia Apparel, were named outstanding Party members. Party committees of Hengli Petrochemical (Dalian) Co., Ltd., Jilin Carbon Valley Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd., Changzhou Hualida Garment Group Co., Ltd., Yueda Textile Group Co., Ltd., and the Party branch of Weihai Tuozhan Fiber Co., Ltd. were named advanced grassroots Party organizations.
Most of these award-winning companies have completed a transition from scale expansion to technological breakthroughs in the past five years. Hengli built a 20-million-ton refining and chemical integration project in 19 months and a 1.5-million-ton ethylene project in 13 months, alongside the world's largest PTA base. Jilin Carbon Valley now has a precursor capacity of 190,000 tons, making it the world's largest carbon fiber precursor producer. Hualida's airbag production line rolls out 130,000 finished units daily, shifting from imported fabrics to an integrated chain covering weaving, coating, sewing, and folding.
Industrial Impact
The deep integration of Party building and business is reshaping the textile industry's core competitiveness. Hengli's Party committee has eliminated 'non-Party member work groups' for five consecutive years, with 83.3% of executives being Party members. Over the past three years, 208 'golden ideas' led by Party members were adopted, and 75% of patent inventions were by Party members or applicants. This organizational structure directly translates Party organizational power into technical problem-solving capability, enabling Hengli to pioneer 'embedded wastewater treatment' technology under the dual-carbon goal, achieving stable COD below 15mg/L and full reclaimed water reuse, earning it the title of national 'green factory'.
For upstream player Jilin Carbon Valley, the Party committee integrates Party building into independent innovation, helping domestic carbon fiber enter the global first tier. Its 190,000-ton precursor capacity scale advantage directly reduces domestic reliance on imported carbon fiber for wind turbine blades and aerospace. Hualida, through 'ordinary people's Party building', unites 25,000 employees, with five factories and 15,000 workers in Vietnam, strengthening headquarters economy and 'Belt and Road' synergy, targeting '10 billion yuan in sales'.
