The textile industry is undergoing an internal energy shift. On July 1, the 105th anniversary of the CPC, 149 national outstanding Communist Party members, 150 outstanding Party affairs workers, and 399 advanced grassroots Party organizations were honored. Those selected from the textile sector reflect the industry's latest progress in technological innovation, supply chain autonomy, and global expansion.
Technological Breakthroughs: Domestic Substitution from Precursor to Airbags
Jilin Carbon Valley Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd.'s Party committee was recognized as an advanced grassroots Party organization. The key fact: it has become the world's largest carbon fiber precursor producer with an annual capacity of 190,000 tons. Carbon fiber precursor is critical for aerospace and wind energy, and its domestic scale production reduces reliance on imports.
Hengli Petrochemical (Dalian) Co., Ltd.'s Party committee achieved rapid construction of a 20 million-ton/year refining-integration project in 19 months and the world's largest 1.5 million-ton/year ethylene project in 13 months, alongside the world's largest PTA base. These projects break foreign monopolies. Hengli also pioneered 'embedded wastewater treatment' technology, achieving COD below 15 mg/L and full water reuse, earning a national 'green factory' certification.
Changzhou Hualida Garment Group's Party committee shows a traditional garment maker's transformation. It now produces 130,000 airbag units daily. In 2008, it learned from Japan; by 2023, it had built an integrated chain from fabric weaving to airbag sewing and folding. Its lightweight airbags are popular in China's new energy vehicle market, demonstrating how traditional textile firms can move into high-value auto parts.
Industrial Organization: Embedding Party Building into Production and Management
A common trait among awardees is deep integration of Party building with operations. Hengli has eliminated 'non-Party member work teams' for five consecutive years, with 83.3% of senior managers being Party members. Through 'Party member pioneer posts,' over 100 members became technical leaders, contributing to 75% of patents from Party members or applicants.
Suzhou Huichuan Technology Co., Ltd.'s Party committee data is revealing: 62% of Party members hold master's degrees, 95% have bachelor's degrees, and 91% are under 40. The company cultivates 'red engineers' to drive innovation in industrial automation.
Yueda Textile Group's Party committee focuses on the 'textile power' goal, improving management and worker skills through Party building. Mi Xuemei, a Party branch member at Zhongshan Xiahushijia Garment Co., has conducted over 100 lectures and training sessions, helping migrant workers upgrade their skills.
Global Layout: Industrial Chain Extension and Belt and Road Practice
Hualida's overseas expansion is a highlight. It operates five factories in Vietnam with 15,000 employees, coordinating domestic and overseas bases to accelerate global supply chain deployment. In 2024, Hualida aims for 10 billion yuan in sales. This shows Party building can align with 'going global' strategies.
Zhang Bo, chairman of Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group, was named an outstanding Party member. Weiqiao is a global leader in aluminum and textiles. His recognition signifies the acknowledgment of large private enterprises' industrial upgrading and global resource integration under Party leadership.
