The expansion of Xinjiang's textile production capacity is not slowing down at the basic cotton spinning level. Recently, the 400,000-spindle spinning industry upgrade demonstration project of Aral Zhongtai Lianfang has officially commenced production. This capacity is equivalent to the total spinning volume of a medium-sized textile city. The entire process from project implementation to equipment installation took only one year, reflecting the execution capability and strategic intent of Xinjiang's XPCC (Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps) in strengthening the textile supply chain.
The Logic of Rapid Capacity Deployment
The project is operated by Aral Zhongtai Lianfang Spinning Co., Ltd., with factory buildings and supporting services provided by Aral Xinxin State-owned Capital Investment and Operation Group. Starting from June 2025, Xinxin Group completed the entire process of preliminary procedures and factory adaptation within one year. To meet the special requirements of spinning processes for floor height, load-bearing capacity, and utility engineering, a dedicated team surveyed and modified the existing factory buildings, and coordinated the connection of water, electricity, and gas infrastructure.
From October to November 2025, the project successively initiated the bidding for installation and commissioning of core equipment, including complete blowroom-carding lines and Japanese Murata vortex spinning machines. The 'zero delay' in equipment installation was achieved through precise alignment of factory delivery progress and bidding timelines. This model of 'customized factory plus synchronized equipment' is becoming the standard paradigm for rapid textile project deployment in Xinjiang.
Ripple Effects on the Industrial Belt
The release of 400,000 spindles of capacity will directly strengthen the spinning supply capability of the Aral Economic Development Zone. Xinjiang's textile industry has long faced the structural contradiction of 'strong upstream cotton spinning, weak downstream weaving and dyeing'. The concentrated launch of spinning capacity means upstream cotton resources will be converted into yarn commodities faster, and the increased variety of yarns—especially the addition of vortex-spun yarns—will attract more weaving and knitting enterprises to cluster in the region.
From a national perspective, the continuous expansion of Xinjiang's spinning capacity is rewriting the cost curve of the domestic cotton textile supply chain. Xinjiang spinning enterprises benefit from policy incentives such as electricity price subsidies, freight subsidies, and outbound freight subsidies. The economies of scale brought by 400,000 spindles will further reduce the cost per ton of yarn. This puts continuous pressure on traditional inland cotton spinning regions—such as Shandong, Henan, and Hubei—particularly small and medium-sized spinning mills, accelerating industry consolidation.
Technical Route Indicated by Equipment Selection
Notably, the core equipment selection for this project includes Japanese Murata vortex spinning machines. Compared to traditional ring spinning, vortex spinning offers advantages such as higher speed, lower labor requirements, and fewer yarn hairiness, making it particularly suitable for producing chemical fiber blends and medium-count pure cotton yarns. This technical route choice indicates that Aral Zhongtai Lianfang's target market is not low-end yarns but rather high-end knitting yarns and denim yarns.
The use of complete blowroom-carding lines implies automated integration of opening and carding processes, reducing human-induced quality fluctuations. Overall, the intelligence level of this project ranks among the top tier of existing spinning capacity in Xinjiang. Its commissioning will drive the local spinning industry from labor-intensive to technology-intensive transformation.
