A northern village with just over 700 households has captured more than 80% of China's fabric market. In 2025 alone, its online and livestream sales exceeded 700 million yuan. This is not a super factory in Yiwu, but Xiaobu Village in Shenze County, Shijiazhuang. On July 26, the 9th China Xiaobu Fabric Exhibition opened at the Hongbai Home Textile Market in Xiaobu Village. The three-day event featured over 1,000 new products across more than 20 categories, including sofa cushions, bedding, tablecloths, and curtains. The exhibition hall covers 40,000 square meters, housing over 170 factory-direct stores. On opening day, buyers came not only from Hebei Province but also from Liaoning, Tianjin, Henan, Shandong, Shanxi, and Jiangsu-Zhejiang regions.

Industrial Foundation: From OEM to Brands

Xiaobu Village's fabric industry is not an overnight success. Two-thirds of its households are engaged in the fabric business, with over 430 registered enterprises. More crucially, the village has forged a deep bond with the Yiwu market: many Yiwu fabric traders source directly from Xiaobu, and Yiwu factories outsource production orders to Xiaobu. This 'South Yiwu, North Xiaobu' pattern positions Xiaobu as a key node in the national fabric supply chain. The village has been recognized as a national 'One Village, One Product' demonstration village and a rural specialty industry village with sales exceeding 100 million yuan. This shows that Xiaobu's rise results from policy guidance, industrial clustering, and market forces. For buyers, Xiaobu means centralized procurement, wide variety, and cost advantages; for factories, it is a frontier for new product development and rapid response.

Exhibition Scene: Branding and New Products

At the exhibition, the store of Shijiazhuang Milai Home Products was crowded. Chairman He Jianqing said they launched over 100 new cushion styles. A buyer from Henan noted that the Milai brand is popular and easy to resell. Other brand stores like Dongzhisheng and Yonghe Fabrics also saw brisk business, with many orders placed on the spot. This signals two trends: Xiaobu is transitioning from OEM to branding, with sub-brands like Jilida and Laiboni gaining recognition; and new product iteration speed is key to competitiveness. Over 1,000 new products and 100 cushion styles mean factories must be capable of fast design and sampling, which helps buyers shorten selection cycles and seize market opportunities.

Government and Association: Dual Focus on Domestic and Overseas Markets

On the opening day, officials from Hebei Province and Shijiazhuang's industry departments, along with the Shijiazhuang Textile Industry Association, visited the market. They agreed to focus on market expansion, brand cultivation, and channel building, and discussed paths to explore overseas markets. This indicates Xiaobu's next strategy is to go both domestic and international. With 80% domestic share, overseas markets present a blue ocean. For foreign trade companies, Xiaobu's supply chain integration, new product speed, and cost control could support exports. However, brand internationalization, quality standards, and channel building remain challenges.

Practical Suggestions

For Buyers - Monitor Xiaobu's new product release rhythm, especially debut items at exhibitions, which often set future trends. - Establish long-term partnerships with brand stores like Milai Home for stable supply and faster reorders. - Leverage the Xiaobu-Yiwu connection to compare prices and lead times, optimizing procurement costs.

For Foreign Trade Companies - Evaluate Xiaobu factories for export qualifications and product standards, prioritizing those with international certifications. - Use Xiaobu as a 'flexible supply chain' pilot, leveraging its rapid sampling for small-batch, multi-SKU overseas orders. - Watch for local government support policies on export channels, such as exhibition subsidies and cross-border e-commerce training, to reduce entry barriers.

Xiaobu's case shows that the competitiveness of China's textile industry lies not only in scale but also in the collaborative efficiency and innovation speed within industrial clusters. For industry professionals, understanding Xiaobu means understanding the next decade of China's fabric industry.
