A northern Chinese village of just over 700 households commands more than 80% of the nation's fabric market, generating over 700 million yuan in 2025 through e-commerce and livestreaming alone. This is not Yiwu, but Xiaobu Village in Shenze County, Shijiazhuang. The 9th Xiaobu Fabric Fair, which opened on July 26, once again puts this 'fabric powerhouse' in the industry spotlight.
Industrial Cluster Background: From 'One Village, One Product' to National Champion
Xiaobu Village is located in Baizhuang Township, Shenze County, which hosts over a thousand fabric processing merchants. Within Xiaobu itself, more than 430 registered fabric enterprises operate, meaning over two-thirds of the village's households are involved in the fabric industry. This high density of industrial activity earned Xiaobu the title of 'One Village, One Product' demonstration village in 2022 and the 'Rural Characteristic Industry Super Billion Yuan Village' award.
In terms of market share, Xiaobu fabric products account for over 80% of the domestic market. The village has formed a deeply integrated supply chain with Yiwu's market: many fabric merchants in Yiwu source directly from Xiaobu, and even some Yiwu manufacturers outsource their production orders to Xiaobu. This 'South Yiwu, North Xiaobu' structure represents a cross-regional division of labor: Yiwu handles trade and order taking, while Xiaobu focuses on manufacturing and fulfillment.
Fair Scene: Dense New Product Launches and Accelerated Branding
The fair is held at the 40,000-square-meter Hongbai Home Textile Market, which houses over 170 factory-direct stores. This year, the vast majority of products on display are brand-new, covering more than 20 categories including sofa cushions, sofa covers, bed sheet sets, bedspreads, throw pillows, tablecloths, aprons, door curtains, piano covers, air conditioner covers, and TV covers, along with complementary materials like embroidered yarns, embroidered fabrics, and water-soluble laces.
Shijiazhuang Milai Home Products Co., Ltd. exemplifies the innovation push: it launched over 100 new throw pillow designs alone. Chairman He Jianqing noted that the company's brands—Jilida, Laiboni, and Landi—have built strong market recognition, attracting buyers specifically seeking them. At other brand stores like Dongzhisheng, Boliyuan Home Textiles, and Yonghe Fabric, on-site orders were brisk.
On opening day, buyers came not only from Hebei Province but also from Liaoning, Tianjin, Henan, Shandong, Shanxi, and Jiangsu-Zhejiang regions. This expanding buyer geography indicates that Xiaobu's market reach is breaking traditional regional boundaries.
Upgrade Logic: Dual Drivers of Brand Building and Channel Development
On the fair's opening day, officials from Hebei Province and Shijiazhuang's industry departments visited the Hongbai market to discuss strategies for 'deepening domestic markets and expanding overseas.' The consensus: focus on market development, brand building, and channel construction.
Xiaobu has already transitioned from OEM to brand-direct operations. The 170 factory-direct stores mean enterprises face end-buyers directly, cutting intermediaries and boosting margins. Multi-brand strategies (like Milai's) further enhance pricing power.
However, challenges remain. An 80% domestic market share implies a growth ceiling, making overseas expansion imperative. While e-commerce livestreaming generated 700 million yuan, individual enterprises still lack capabilities in brand communication, user operations, and cross-border logistics.
