A digital inkjet printing technology project led by Yuyue Home Textile won the first prize of Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award at the provincial science and technology conference held on August 6. The project, named 'Research and Industrialization of Multi-dimensional Collaborative Digital Inkjet Printing Quality and Efficiency Improvement Technology System,' is not a simple upgrade but a systematic breakthrough against the industry's long-term dependence on imported equipment and consumables. It marks a critical shift for domestic printing technology from following to leading.
Background
Digital inkjet printing is regarded as one of the core paths for green transformation of textile printing and dyeing, but the industry has long been plagued by three major pain points: low production efficiency, poor product stability, and high dependence on imported equipment and consumables. Yuyue Home Textile, together with Qingdao University, Tiangong University, Shandong Yellow River Delta Textile Technology Research Institute, and Lufeng Dyeing and Weaving, spent years of research to reveal for the first time the 'line segment cluster' digital imaging mechanism of ink droplets in inkjet printing, overturning the traditional paper dot imaging theory.
Based on this mechanism, the team independently developed core technologies for precise image control and multi-scale molecular synergistic enhancement, and successfully built the world's first 12-color rotary screen enhanced high-speed digital inkjet printing line. This line not only significantly improves printing speed and precision but also achieves a qualitative leap in color expression and batch consistency, providing the possibility for large-scale customized production of high-end home textile fabrics.
Industry Impact
The industrial application of this technology means downstream buyers will gain greater freedom in fabric color options without worrying about delivery cycles and costs for small-batch, multi-variety orders. The high threshold of imported equipment is greatly lowered, and the improvement of domestic equipment and consumables will directly reduce capital expenditure in the printing and dyeing segment, benefiting small and medium-sized dyeing factories in equipment upgrading.
A deeper impact lies in the green and low-carbon dimension. Digital inkjet printing has inherent advantages in water saving, energy saving, and waste reduction compared to traditional rotary screen printing. The promotion of this technology will accelerate the entire printing and dyeing industry's transformation toward low water consumption and low emissions, aligning with the national 'dual carbon' strategy's rigid requirements for manufacturing. For home textile industry clusters such as Binzhou in Shandong and Nantong in Jiangsu, this achievement is expected to drive collaborative upgrading of the upstream and downstream chain, forming a new growth pole centered on technological innovation.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Yuyue Home Textile has received such an honor. The company has previously won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award twice and multiple provincial and ministerial first prizes. This sustained R&D investment reflects leading enterprises' emphasis on technology moats and indicates that industry competition is shifting from production capacity to technology intensity.
