When over one hundred buyers from more than twenty countries converge on Xucun, it signals more than just a busy trade show—it reflects a restructuring of the global home textile supply chain. The 35th Haining Home Textile Expo, which opened on August 15, and its concurrent 5th 'Xucun Premium' Foreign Trade Matchmaking Fair delivered clear signals through concrete numbers and order intentions: direct sourcing from factories is becoming the mainstream choice for cross-border procurement.
Changing Buyer Structure: From Browsing to Targeted Sourcing
The overseas buyer mix at this year's fair was particularly telling. The Nepal Trade Promotion Center delegation brought 24 chain home furnishing procurement heads and large fabric wholesalers; Pakistan's Chaman Chamber of Commerce led a team of five local import traders and home furnishing brand buyers; and Bangladesh sent a direct-flight procurement group of ten home textile distributors and finished product importers. These were not casual visitors but decision-makers with clear purchasing lists.
Indu Pradhan, Secretary General of the Nepal Trade Promotion Center, revealed that Nepal's home textile market maintains a stable annual growth rate of 6.8%, with over 80% relying on Chinese imports, and Xucun fabrics accounting for the largest import share. This data means that for the South Asian market, Xucun is not an option but a necessity. The previous multi-tier intermediary model led to high costs and long lead times; the matchmaking fair now offers a direct channel to source factories, enabling customized and precise procurement.
Product Innovation and Flexible Supply Chain: Xucun's Two Winning Cards
Buyer feedback focused on two points: product innovation and supply chain flexibility. Brahim from Mauritania, whose family has been in the sofa fabric business for over thirty years, previously only attended the Shanghai exhibition but came specifically to Xucun this time, noting that 'exhibitors have differentiated themselves.' ATIYAH HAMOUDAH MOHAMMED AMHIMMID from Libya, who ships 300-400 containers annually, visited Haining for the first time and felt that 'the fabric quality is particularly good, and the styles are numerous.' Behind these comments lies Xucun's transformation from selling fabric to selling solutions.
Take Hunan Yilian Yijia as an example. This company, which previously focused on domestic sales, has been expanding into Korean and Australian markets over the past two to three years. 80% of its products feature textured bases from the bottom, with original pattern designs, even launching a 'dual-use' fabric—one side with a velvet vine pattern, the other with a smooth landscape texture. This level of innovation directly responds to overseas markets' high demand for differentiated products. Meanwhile, Nepalese buyers mentioned that 'most factories flexibly accept small and medium orders, and automated production lines effectively control costs,' indicating that Xucun's flexible supply chain capability has become a core competitive advantage for attracting small-batch orders.
From Expo to Platform: The Evolving Role of the Foreign Trade Matchmaking Fair
Haining Vice Mayor Zhang Ruqiang noted at the opening ceremony that the home textile industry is undergoing critical transformations in consumption upgrading, technological iteration, and green transition. This judgment aligns with actual buyer demands. MAHMOOD POOR MOJTABA from the Iran-China Friendship Association revealed that nearly 100% of his products are sourced from Haining, with five containers shipped to Dubai last year alone. ZHYKHAREVA OLEG, General Manager of Ukraine's LVTU TRADING COMPANY, attended for the second time because 'clients specifically requested Haining fabrics.'
These cases demonstrate that the 'Xucun Premium' matchmaking fair has evolved from a single event into a regular, efficient, international trade platform. For foreign trade enterprises, this means Haining's home textile export channels are shifting from relying on intermediaries to directly engaging with end markets. In the future, those who adapt quickly to this direct sourcing model will secure advantageous positions in the global home textile supply chain restructuring.
