A three-day cross-provincial matchmaking event has shifted collaboration between Fujian and Zhejiang textile chains from paper to factory floors. From August 17 to 19, the first out-of-province session of Fujian's 'Hundred Enterprises, Thousand Products' supply chain strengthening series was held in Shaoxing, Taizhou, and Wenzhou, Zhejiang. On-site contracts (including intent) exceeded 100 million yuan, with 16 enterprises reaching supply chain cooperation. Behind these numbers lies a substantive shift from 'single-point procurement' to 'systemic coordination' among regional industrial clusters.
Background
The event was hosted by the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, organized by the Fujian Textile and Apparel Industry Association, and co-organized by China Yarn Net, Zhejiang Textile Fabric Design Association, and the Textile New Material Center of China Light Textile City. Over 20 leading Fujian enterprises such as Jinyuan, Haitian, and Xiangxing, along with representatives from universities and research institutes, visited Zhejiang's textile clusters. They engaged with more than 80 key Zhejiang companies, including Qiaodun and Dixiang, with over 200 participants in total.
The event adopted a 'precision matchmaking plus on-site visits' format. Fujian companies visited renowned Zhejiang apparel firms like Baoxiniao and Semir in Wenzhou, Lantuhw and Dixiang in Taizhou, as well as the Wenzhou Daxiangcheng International Fabric Accessories Center and the Taizhou Jacket Science and Innovation Park. Through factory floor tours and production observations, both sides exchanged information on new textile materials, functional fabric upgrades, original shoe and apparel design, green low-carbon production, and brand channel enhancement.
Notably, leading Fujian enterprises including Hengshen, Euron, and Haitian released innovative products such as new textile materials and functional fabrics, while Zhejiang enterprises presented procurement and cooperation demands. This model of proactive supply-side presentations and real-time demand-side responses contrasts with the loose nature of traditional trade shows, making supply-demand matching more precise and efficient.
Industrial Impact
Since the series launched in May 2026, a cumulative 25 signing projects have been facilitated, with total contract value (including intent) exceeding 1.7 billion yuan. While this scale may not rival that of a single mega-project, its significance lies in unblocking the 'capillaries' of inter-provincial supply chains. Fujian possesses a complete chain from 'a drop of oil' chemical fiber raw materials to 'a strand of yarn,' from 'a piece of fabric' dyed and finished to 'a garment or a pair of shoes.' Zhejiang excels in fashion design, smart manufacturing, green transformation, and professional market operations. The two provinces are highly complementary, and these matchmaking events effectively convert this complementarity into quantifiable cooperation.
For buyers, cross-provincial matchmaking reduces the information cost of finding suppliers. Instead of relying on trade fairs or intermediaries, enterprises can now directly align technical parameters and capacity requirements through government-facilitated platforms. For instance, combining Fujian's functional fabrics with Zhejiang's outdoor apparel brands can shorten new product development cycles. Conversely, Zhejiang's design capabilities can enhance the value-added of Fujian's manufacturing.
On a deeper level, this event reflects a shift from 'going it alone' to 'collaborative synergy' among textile industrial belts. In H1 2026, Fujian's textile industrial value-added grew 7.2%, 4.2 percentage points above the national average, showcasing resilience. However, relying solely on intra-provincial circulation is unsustainable; cross-provincial collaboration helps enterprises diversify risks and share markets. For factories, this means order sources are no longer limited to local areas but can tap into a regional network for more stable demand.
